Danny Reubens


​New Adventures
dancer Danny Reubens has been a guest teacher at Summer Dance Scene for 3 consecutive years 2010/11and 2012. Danny trained at Central School of Ballet and then Ballet Rambert and has since performed in Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake (including the film Swan Lake in 3D), Edward Scissor Hands, Lord Of The Flies, The Nutcracker, Play Without Words and Sleeping Beauty.  Danny has been performing in the New Adventures most recent production of The Car Man .

Aimee Symes

Aimee Symes gained and graduated from Laban Conservatoire of Dance gaining a BA (Honours) in Dance Theatre where she developed her technical and creative skills.  She furthered her studies to a Masters level, joining Map dance (directed by Yael Flexer and Detta Howe).  During Map dance Aimee worked with Ben Duke, Darren Ellis, Rose English and Yaara Dolev and recreated Gregory Maqoma's Zola Nation. She then joined Commotion Dance Company in early 2012 and teaches for the company when on tour.


Xavi Monreal

Street dancer, choreographer and martial arts artist.   Xavi currently teaches at Pineapple studios and is a dancer at The Royal Opera House.  Recent productions have included  Macbeth, Aida, Faust, Die Meistersinger and Les Troyens.  He has been a dancer for Jamelia,Enrique Iglesias,Emma Bunton, Trevor Sun, Gipsy and has performed in numerous commercials.   Xavi has been a guest teacher and choreographer for Bridport Youth Dance for the past ten years and will be teaching again at Summer Dance Scene 2016.

Brendon Hansford

Street dancer/choreographer and director of Alter Ego Dance company and studio.  Brendon was originally from Bridport, trained at the Laban Centre as a Ballet/Contemporary dancer and soon decided to change pathways and travel the world to train with the best choreographers in the style of Hip Hop, including various style’s such as New style, Old School, Lockin, Poppin, Breakin, whacking and House.  Brendon has had an exciting performance career ranging from working with famous directors such as Ricky Gevais to artists like Cher Lloyd.

Luke Robson

Dancer and choreographer Luke Robson is a regular guest teacher at Summer Dance Scene.

                       Carrie Willis

Carrie discovered her passion for dancing at the young age of 4 and set her mind on achieving a career in dance at just 11 years old when she gained a place at The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge. Here she trained solidly in classical ballet for 5 years having the opportunity to perform at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and at numerous high profile events. Having received world class training and the opportunity to work with highly  acclaimed choreographers, Carrie went on to develop her skills and versatility in dance and musical theatre at Laine Theatre Arts.Theatre credits include performances with The Royal Ballet School and Company, annual performances with Laine Theatre Arts, pantomime, showcases at The London Palladium, cabaret performances and Tokyo Disneyland.  Carrie has toured in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Matthew Bourne's acclaimed production of Swan Lake and most recently in McQueen.

Carrie has developed her own style of technical and lyrical Jazz that focuses on expression and musicality of movement. She has vast teaching experience, allowing individuals to realise their passion for movement and to reach their full potential.

Luke Murphy

Luke trained at Northern School of Ballet before becoming a dancer in Mathew Bourne's New Adventures. Luke has performed in Bourne's Swan Lake, Edward Scissor Hands, The Car Man, Nutcracker and will be performing in New Adventure's next production Sleeping Beauty.  Luke was guest teacher at Summer Dance Scene 2012.

Andrew Dickson

Local composer, song writer and musician Andrew Dickson has collaborated with Nikki on numerous productions with Bridport Youth Dance.  Andrew's recent compositions for BYD included stunning scores for Reflexion's 'Tread Softly' and Tapistory's 'Colours'.  He has composed extensively for television drama working closely with the legendary film director Mike Leigh and has a wealth of experience in theatre working as actor, director, musical director, musician and composer.  Andrew won the Ascap Film Awards for his score for Mike Leigh's film: Secrets and Lies, and the European Composer Of The Year Award for High Hopes. Other film scores for film include Vera Drake,  All or Nothing and Naked.   

Robert Lee

Robert Lee is a composer performer and producer of music who lives in Bridport.  Various current embroilments include the Slightly Fat Features shows and the “Battle for the Winds” extravaganza for the 2012 Olympic opening on Weymouth Sands.  He is also performing with his The Fantastic Flea Band as well as providing scores for theatre shows. 
He has his own virtual studio at www.dibdibdub.com and he recently collaborated with Niki McCretton on a piece in this year’s BYD production, 'Tapistory'.  
What he enjoys most is waking up and falling back to sleep again.
